From the outside, you'd hardly know
that Piece of Cake makes the best traditional
cakes in Portland—let alone
award-winning vegan, sugar-free, wheat-free,
gluten-free, even "adults-only"
cakes, or that they offer full service
Catering.
"Passion is what we bake," says
owner Marilyn DeVault.
Tucked away in
Sellwood, her quirky storefront extends
its reach via New Seasons, Wild Oats,
and Whole Foods, all of whom stock
Piece of Cake's dessert treats.
Made with
a cream cheese icing, the chocolate
chantilly is not to be missed, nor is the
"fantasy" cake, a cheesecake layered
with a flour cake.
